Parents like the one in the cartoon are worried to send his or her children to school because they fear that, that may be the last time he or she will ever see their child again. Mass shooting and gun ownership rates are highly correlated and “the higher the gun ownership rate, the more a country is susceptible to experiencing mass shooting incidents” (Phillip). The issue may not start with the gun owner.
