They view the tragedies as just that, but the difference is that they seek a change in policy in order to fix the problem. They believe that a change in policy will fix the immediate problem, but usually lack thought of later effects of their plan. President Barack Obama has been interviewed and stated that “‘It cannot be this easy for somebody who wants to inflict harm on other people to get his or her hands on them’” (Leow par. 5). With the President clearly stating his opinion on the issue, many people are persuaded to go along with him, without truly assessing the situation for themselves. People have become so used to letting higher figures think for them and after hearing from the President that gun control should happen, they begin to believe the same, never thinking for themselves how it will affect life itself. These people are only focusing on the people who do bad acts with these weapons, but they ignore all the people who use those weapons to protect themselves and their family. They see the problem and believe they see a simple solution, but what they do not understand is that while making access to guns much more limited, bad people will still get their hands on them, and other people will be less protected because they will be incapable of getting a gun. Ultimately, the imagined impact of gun control is one that any person would want: to live in a place where bad people can not get their hands on a weapon to hurt others. However, even with gun control, a world such as that would never exist. Gun control would greatly infringe upon the rights of people, and despite some immediate positive results, would eventually lead to more destruction and for those reasons should not be put into
