In addition, there is very little research on the psychological effects of the survivors of a school shooting. Unfortunately, there seems to be more research on the motivations behind the perpetrators.
Strauss (2018) suggests that Daniel Willingham's science and educational blog once talked about the psychological effects of gun violence to survivors after years it happened. Willingham is a psychology professor at the University of Virginia who researches about the survivor's mental health. Also, he gave Strauss the permission to republish the blog.

Correspondingly, Strauss (2018) put the three outcomes, Willingham first stated that when the examination of the enrollment after the mass shooting was conducted, the result turned out that was it decreased. The researchers undoubtedly believed that grade nine student's parents decided to enroll them to another school. Moreover, some who are already committed to that school decided to stay and did not transfer.
Second, they examined the test scores of students and it became lower. Due to students who does not want to participate in the tests or exams. They also tested other possibilities from California schools and the result was the same. For this reason, after the mass shootings the researchers examined individual students each year and results still dropped.
Third, luckily there were no effects of the behavioral outcomes on graduation
