In the book “The Crucible” about the witch trials in Salem, Massachusetts, also contained hysteria by the girls. Whenever the girls accused someone of being a witch, hysteria was shown. I feel like girls or women come down with hysteria because they are too over dramatic about things. Maybe the girls are sick because of the loss of consciousness, nausea or dizziness as it explains in the article “Mass Hysteria in Upstate New York”, but I believe that the crazy behavior is just all fake. The article also mentions “The Crucible”, I believe the girls were just faking it to catch attention. Also, I believe that this could be caused by stress. Being stressed could lead to many different illnesses. In the article it states that they never found any bad substance or toxins at LeRoy Junior High School in New York.
