At this preschool, their program is based on the Creative Curriculum, according to the Maslow’s Theory when students have food in them, and a safe and welcoming environment, they are more likely to learn. When starting the day off the teacher’s role is to, tend to the children and their basic needs (physiological needs). So, the teacher makes sure all children have been given the opportunity to have breakfast, use the bathroom, brush their teeth, and wash their hands before starting any type of activity for the day.
This is followed up by her being the leader and the controller of the classroom. The teacher has set rules put into place that everyone within the classroom must follow. When the teacher is reading a book, or teaching a lesson,

She is who makes the lesson plans, grades the papers, assess, and shapes the students ' prior learning and advances the children in the direction of a greater comprehension of a topic by the means of lesson plans and activities. Furthermore, the teacher’s role in the room is to always communicate with other staff members and the parents of the students in order to provide the best education for the children. This is usually occurring in home visits, parent conferences and before class starts. Even know the teacher is the main source of information, she does not continuously teach the children. The children are given station time/ free time to explore the world around them within the classroom and socialize with other students. I never really put much detailed thought into the teaching process, nor did I realize how much personal time is attributed into it. During my practicum, I have observed many factors that I believe help establish a teacher’s teaching style. Foremost, our personality, beliefs, pervious learning experiences, enthusiasm, and creativity all play a part in creating a person’s teaching style and having the ability to maintain classroom management.
After thinking about this topic for a while I can say a lot of my teaching techniques that were establish came from having a mentor (cooperating teacher) especially when it came to classroom management. When I first started my student hours, I had no knowledge on how to operate a classroom of sixteen children.
