Maslow’s hierarchy identifies five primary areas of needs that are experienced by most humans. Maslow suggested that as man meets the needs at the first level, he moves to the next and so on. Those needs are, survival, security, belonging, esteem, cognitive and self actualization.
The first Maslow need is the biological and physiological needs - air, food, drink, shelter, warmth, sex and sleep. It is used to cover one’s body to protect against the cold and having access to food in order to survive. Shoes for example is tremendously important due to the fact that it helps us walk, and has a big impact on our feet, knees, spine and much more. I only own two pairs of athletic shoes. Clothing can make you feel great about yourself. I seriously do not know how many times I change my outfit every morning. No matter if I am about to be late to a class; I always make sure to walk out feeling confident. Our clothes say more about us than what we realize. Someone can have a wardrobe full of baggy clothes, which can translate to a person who feels embarrassed about their body. Men who are in shape tend to wear tight clothing, to show off their muscles for example. My style was very unique to many during high school. A lot of students just wear athletic clothing, which is very boring. That is why I enjoy being in the fashion major. I am able to be myself and relate to others. A new accessory that I am really into is fedora hats. They are in trend, and can make you look more put together. They come in a wide variety of sizes and colors, but I only like wide brim fedoras. Personally I do not own sweatpants at the moment. They are perfect for all year round. Specially during those cozy winter nights. Notably, they have become more popular, since they are now being made into skinny sweatpants. The term for that is “joggers”. Joggers have a comfortable upper, tailored leg, and a casual menswear feel to the cuffs. Which can make you look more stylish, if you know how to accessory it.
