At the end of my five year spell at Marywood, I want to earn a Bachelor of Architecture degree. Achieving this goal would allow me to pursue my dream of becoming an architect. I will need to exercise many principles and keep a strong hold of my values in order to realize this dream. Marywood’s core values of excellence and empowerment will be key to my success. Challenging individuals of all backgrounds to achieve their full potential is a big part of Marywood’s mission, and I intend to reach the peak of my abilities during my time here. The core value of excellence is majorly important to me in my major. The architecture program is a highly competitive environment that drives students to do their best work. In order to excel, I must harness the competitiveness that I have always had, and strive to be the very best. It is only through my passion for architecture that I will able to do this. The fear of failure and the will to succeed are enhanced in my mind when I am thrust into a difficult situation. College is a time to find yourself and truly realize your potential. It is a time in which you are constantly tested and criticized in order to be molded into a better person. Setting goals for yourself is a very important skill to have in order to keep up with all of this. I will need to set goals for myself all the time to motivate myself and keep tabs on my progress.
