Advancements are being made in Maryville’s plan for the upcoming asphalt and mill overlay project. The asphalt and mill overlay project, which was proposed on February 13 during the city hall meeting which will allow the construction of many roads in the city. The project is being headed by C.E. Goodall and Maryville’s department of Public Works as well as City Manager Greg McDanel. The project is set to start in July and is in the early planning stages. McDanel said that the project has not made much progress since it was first proposed. “Since the meeting little has been done with the project,” McDanel said. “C.E. has been working with Public Works to confirm the streets that will be repaired.”

“While we know that a lot of people drive on some of the streets proposed and the construction of these roads will cause some inconveniences we want to get them fixed as soon as possible,” Goodall said. “The fact that people drive on these streets means that they get more traffic and need more maintenance and upkeep which we are doing through the asphalt and mill overlay project.”
Kevin Yoders who took over the baking section of the Galaxy Country Store located on Galaxy Drive said that the repair of the road would affect business.
“Galaxy Drive is the only way for workers and customers to really get to the store and by doing repairs on the road will greatly affect this and make it much harder to get to our store,” Yoders said. “I am aware that it will be helpful in the end, I just worry about how it will affect our business during the time the construction is going on.”
Goodall expects that the project in the end will be beneficial to the city and Maryville citizens.
“We hope that this project will help with the upkeep of the town and make life easier for residents of Maryville despite the temporary inconvenience it will cause,” Goodall

The first quarter mile includes three different hospitals along with numerous medical offices. To the south of Calhoun there are multi-million dollar historic homes along a seawall called The Battery, most of them dating back to the 18th or 19th century. There is an elevated walk way on The Battery where locals and visitors take walks, enjoying the sounds of the waves and sea birds. The air smells salty and fresh, and the air is also usually humid.…

As of January first, all employs working within Morgantown city limits will see a three dollar per week fee automatically deducted from their income to pay the new city user service fee. This fee, costing each worker over $150 a year, is designed to pay for upgrades and upkeep to city roads and to finance Morgantown City Police. The city is charging this tax to those who work within city limits as a way to target those who are most likely to use the roads and police. Conservative city estimates project that the user fee will raise $4.5 million annually (“Safe Streets & Safe Community Service Fee Info), but the number is likely much higher when part-time student employees are considered.…

The field of engineering impacts our society in many, many ways. There are the most obvious impacts, technological and technical improvements (means of transportation, electronics, resource distributions services, et cetera), but there are impacts that may be somewhat vague, such as global and societal impacts. Both impacts must be weighted equally by the modern, citizen engineer. As an engineering student in southeast Ohio, one of the more recent and relevant examples of engineering impacting a society is the construction of the Nelsonville Bypass project. U.S. Route 33 ran through this small town, of approximately 5,400 people, and this section typically averaged about 19,000 vehicles per day with 15 percent being semi trucks.…

The authors claim indicating that, "Replacing the Mathescam Bridge, which links Ottenville with Tottenville, will prove far less beneficial than would repairing the existing structure. The project will unjustly hurt drivers, because the Ottenville mayor recommended - shortly before the $12 million new bridge proposal was announced - that bridge tolls be raised by 50 percent. Since drivers' main complaints have been uneven pavement and closed lanes, the Mathescam Bridge Authority should not hike tolls and should instead repair the existing bridge, shifting maintenance crews to late evenings, when far fewer drivers are on the roads.", is unacceptable as the facts indicated are not clearly justified. Firstly, there is no concrete justification…
