Maryann Kpor: Take A Stand We all know a girl like her; tan, pretty, a complete brat. She’s known for all the wrong reasons; who she’s slept with, how much she drank at the party last weekend. We know her as this; a pretty girl who gets around and may have a drinking problem. What we don’t know is she’s a straight A student who raises her younger brother and sister on her own because her mother is an alcoholic drugee who is not capable of providing for her family. We don’t know that she works two part time jobs just to keep food on the table. We don’t know that her dad left then when her sister was born. The only things we know about her is what we read on twitter, and her revealing instagram pictures, and her rude facebook posts. We hate her, yet we don’t even know her. So we comment on her instagram pictures and we tweet about her, but no ones dares say a word to her in person. Technology is a detriment to teens. Imagine this, the girl described above posts a picture in a bikini with two boys and a beer in her hand. As we scroll through instagram we see this. Ew, right? You start to type a comment, not even thinking of how she might feel. “Put some clothes on, gross.” You tap send without a second thought. Its just one comment, right? It won’t hurt her, right? Wrong. The girl gets messages and comments …show more content…

She takes one hand off the wheel and grabs her phone as it buzzed. Its Justin. She smiles and sends him a

These changes often reflect the cultural values of the time period and upon analysis the similarities and differences between the cultures are revealed.
