Mary Wade was born on the 5th of October 1777 and died on the 17th of December 1859 at the age 82. Mary was born in Southwarl, London, UK along with her siblings Elizabeth and Henrietta, where she spent her days cleaning and sweeping the streets of London in hopes of making money by begging. On the 5th of October 1788, Mary (now 11 years old) and her friend, Jane Whiting (14 years old) stole clothes from another young child, Mary Phillips (8 years old). Mary was reported to an Officer when another child later found one of the clothing that was stolen in Mary’s room. Mary was arrested and placed in Bridewell Prison where she awaited trial on the 14th of January 1789. Mary was found guilty and sentenced to death by hanging. What we also know
