The first book was called Spider Kane and the Mystery Under the May-Apple. The first two books were later released as a compilation under the title of The Spider Kane Mysteries (Banting).
Mary, throughout the years has continued to publish numerous books and series in many different genres. Another one being the Tales from the Odyssey series, which deals with the Odysseus of Greek Mythology. It tells many different stories involving this character. In 2002 The One –Eyed Giant was the 1st of many to be published from this series (Osborne, Biography).
In the early 2000’s Mary, along with the help of her sister Natalie Pope Boyce and husband Will, together they decided to publish a side series of nonfiction books for the Magic Tree House series called Research Guides. They gave more factual information and details on the subjects that the original books in the Tree House Series had covered (Banting). “After about ten MTH books had been published, my husband Will noted that teachers and parents kept talking about the books inspiring kids to learn more about the places and times that Jack and Annie visit. So he created the Fact Tracker series as nonfiction companions to the fiction” (Osborne, GeekDad Interviews ‘Magic Tree House’ Author Mary Pope Osborne). In 2012 she rebranded this nonfiction series and called them Fact Tracker. The Magic Tree House Fact Tracker #34: “Dogsledding and Extreme Sports”, is the latest publication by Osborne which was released on January 5, 2016 (Osborne, GeekDad Interviews ‘Magic Tree House’ Author Mary Pope
