Authors Robert George and Patrick Lee elaborate their reasons for why they consider abortion to be wrong.
When an abortion procedure is performed, the physician, as can be evidently seen from the gruesome scene described above, is literally killing a human. Yes, the fetus is a human. George and Lee writes that “as early as eight or ten weeks of gestation, the fetus has a fully formed, beating heart, a complete brain, …, a recognizably human form, and the fetus feels pain, cries, and even sucks his or her thumb” (14). Do we humans not have/do these things? Last time I checked, we do.
Now some people may say that you are not killing a human being as it is not out of the womb yet or it is technically part of the mother so the mother has the right to let the baby stay or go (what George and Lee call “the bodily rights argument” (20)) or whatever other excuses they can conjure up.
