Animal Farm Marxism Analysis

Animal Farm’s Truth Within the Lines The novel, Animal Farm by George Orwell was written in 1945 as a symbolism to tell about the Russian desire for social and political change that eventually resulted with revolts and political organizations that led to the Russian Revolution of 1917. The revolts advocated for freedom from the oppressors and the political leaders offered equal rights as a form of gaining political control of the masses. Therefore Orwell is very keen in using animals that represent people and illustrates events that symbolize the real historical happenings of the Russian Revolution at that time in his novel. Moreover, Orwell is able to clearly represent the symbolic revolution figures of the party leaders of that era: Joseph Stalin and Leon Trotsky represented as a fantasy of the two pigs: Napoleon and Snowball who start a revolution for liberation and equal rights. Through the novel Animal Farm, Orwell fails to convince readers that revolution is a solution for freedom of the oppressed, but on the other hand Orwell is able to support a Marxist agenda by using the novel to condemn socioeconomic classes.
Although Orwell does an exceptional job in using animals to symbolize figures during the revolution in Animal Farm, he does not totally sell the idea of freedom and equality through revolution.
