The main reason why UGG boots are as expensive as they are is because of one thing, the name “UGG”. When looking at the knockoff brands like Emus, Bear Paws or even Airwalk, they are arguably better and significantly cheaper then the actual UGG brand. The connotation of UGG evokes the feeling of quality comfort, wealth and favored aesthetic, whereas the knock-off brands portray poverty and inferiority. UGGs are also seen worn by famous celebrities and the endorsement promotes the brands legitimacy. But, once again, the main difference between the two products is the marketing and capitalist ideal attached to the more expensive option.
