My choice as a gendered toy for both girl and boy was Marvel action figures. For the boy, I chose to write about the Marvel Spider-Man and in particular Marvel’s Lasher. The packaging black and white with the name “Marvels Lasher” displayed a crossed a red banner with white lettering. These colors, representing power and blood work to further the male mindset of superiority. Lasher, utterly inhuman in appearance, made of green sludge with white eyes and possessing superhuman abilities that help him to outwit and fight nearly everyone. His hairy appendages, four in all coming to a razor point as if to represent the blades of a knife, consequently overshadowing his two powerful hands, which serve to accentuate his prowess.
