Luther goes on to express why each of these walls need to come tumbling down like the walls of Jericho. He begins with this idea of Spiritual vs. Secular. I am currently serving as a Student Ministry Director, and I am surrounded with a tremendous team of volunteers, all of whom are not full-time paid ministry. So to think that I have this special Jesus treatment, that they do not have, or that I have this insight on Christ that they might not, would be completely inaccurate. Now do I have more responsibilities in my position, yes, but this does not make me a super Christian like the church was displaying during Luther’s time. This approach of the church seems to have been limiting the spread of the gospel. Seemed like a control issue, taking the authority of God into, their own hands. Let those walls
