Martin Luther was a normal middle class child growing up in Germany where his father worked very hard to provide the best for his family. He was born on November 11, 1483, in the city of Eiselben, Saxony, which is a division of Germany. Soon after he was born, Martin and his family moved to another German city, Mansfield. Martin’s parents were Hans and Margarethe Luther. Hans worked in the copper mines, but he had many aspirations of his son becoming an influential lawyer. Martin’s grandparents were very poor, but Hans worked as hard as he could to get his family out of the lower, peasant class, and into the newly founded working class.
