In our society we have to learn how to have conversation with a hostile audience it may not be easy but it must be done. Especially in the future 4 years because of the results from the presidential election which brought a lot of negativity and fear to people. Therefore, it is critical for us to read and examine examples of how to deal with people who do not only disagree with us but are also emotional hostile. An outstanding example of how to deal with a hostile audience is Martin Luther King Jr. Letter from Birmingham city jail. Martin Luther King Jr. message was not to convince all clergymen that what he was doing was right. It was to try and open them up so they wouldn't see him and his people as the bad people.

King teaches us is how to use create fear in our language to the Clergymen. The Clergymen are religious people who want the best for the country and follow their christian beliefs. If someone was to call them the devil and say that they lost their faith in America it would be just simply offensive. Therefore, Dr King states “ Who have concluded that the white man in an incurable the “devil”.” He saying that white man have become evil and show no love and respect for their brothers and sister which is what religion is based on. Dr. King is using the ideology that christian people believe in love and compassion and the devil is not what they want to become. On the other hand, some would argue that by telling them that other people think of the white men as the “devil” may prove to the Clergymen that what Dr.King and his people what they are doing is unwise and they are just doing it as an act of immorality. I have to say I agree to some extend . Dr. King is taking a risk by telling them what other people think of white men. I personally don’t know if I would do this, but Dr. King does prove his point that what they are doing is not
