The description of website IMDb.com is to find showtimes, watch trailers, browse photos, and rate movies and TV shows, which really doesn’t seem very accurate to use as a source if we are looking for valid and academic information. Since the source just gives us a short trailer, we can’t get any information, and the movie description is very short and vague also, so I don’t thinks it meets the CRAAP criteria because it is not relevant or accurate, and the purpose of the source is to promote a movie, not to give information. Also the author and the date of the article is not mentioned. I would not use this source for an academic writing, instead, I think it would be better to watch the movie and get information from it and use it as a …show more content…
The video is 3 minutes long, but it gives detailed information on the topic. The video is part of an article, and it was published on 2009, which is not very recent, but compared to the date of this event, is current enough, and it was updated on 2017. This source is History.com, which is a very valid source of information. Although the video is a little short, as I said, it has a lot of facts, and there are many more videos available. As a source, it seems very relevant. It meets the authority criteria by giving credit to the author, contact information, and the publisher information. The purpose of the source is to inform and give facts on the events presented. I thinks this is a useful and reliable source, therefore, I would recommend it and use it as a source for an academic

Four key figures emerged from the Black Power Movement who promoted the following three tenets: self-defense, self-determination and self-respect. Martin Luther King Jr. accelerated the Black Power movement through self-determination and self-respect, but decelerated the process in terms of self-defense because of his nonviolent perspective. Malcom X on the other hand accelerated all three tenets through Black Nationalism. More particularly Malcom X encouraged individualism, separatism through any means possible, including violence. Similarly Stokely Carmichael, also known as Kwame Taft, promoted all three tenets through education.…

Psychologists VS Historians Martin Luther was the man at the head of the Protestant Reformation. He is remembered for his many published works criticizing the Roman Catholic Church, particularly their use of indulgences. While it is universally accepted that Luther is the father of reformation, historians and psychologists disagree on exactly why Luther felt the need to speak out against such a powerful organization. Erik Erikson, for example, believed Luther was motivated to reform the church through subconscious desires from unsettled conflicts from his childhood. Erikson invented the concept of psychosocial development, meaning each individual goes through stages in life and the unsuccessful completion of these stages may determine future…

In addition to his respect for human life, King had great faith in himself to affect a change. Polster (2001) stresses that heroes’ faith in themselves generates their effectiveness. In other words, when faced with a negative situation, heroes do not stop until they have turned that situation into a positive one. For example, King knew someone had to do something to spark the drive to obtain African Americans their civil rights. In 1955, the spark came in the form of Rosa Parks, a veteran civil rights activist.…

The Protestant Reformation is often indicated as just the Reformation. It was the major disagreement within Western Christianity started by Martin Luther. Martin Luther wrote his 95 Theses in hopes of just starting a debate between the church, but ended up setting the religious world aflame. In his document, he started by criticizing the selling of indulgence, demanding that the pope had no authority over purgatory and that the Catholic doctrine of the merits of the saints had no foundation in the gospel. The “95 Theses” are a list of questions and propositions for debate and are also known as “Disputation on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences.”…

First of all, King demonstrated sensitivity by selecting a widespread topic: racial rights and freedom. This was not just an issue to the black community, but also it effected the rest of the world. When King said: "all of God's children...sing, free at last", it is clear that he included all the people: the blacks and the whites. The whole point of King’s speech was to end all racism in the United States and call for civil and economic rights.…

A distinct quote that caught my eye was from chapter 53; and it said “Being alive, you are more powerful than a thousand dead kings.” I like this quote and the entire chapter that surrounds it because it means that are words are powerful. Chapter 53 also talks about how Martin Luther King told his audience he addressed in one of his speeches that he was not afraid of death. Martin Luther King was a memorable advocate for black rights and a memorable figure throughout history. Martin Luther King’s words were obviously very powerful because he was constantly receiving death threats and many other forms of abuse, in addition he was eventually assassinated.…

Dr. Martin Luther King was a very intelligent man, who was the definition of a Real Man. He was an average man, who like to play pool, and get his hair cut, however, I felt like I wanted to personally express gratitude towards him for making strides for people like my grandmother and grandfather, and of course for me.
