This quote is an inspiration for me to always keep hope, even when the current situation seems impossible to overcome. For example, if I receive a bad grade in my schoolwork, I may want to lose hope, give up, and never try again. However, Dr. King’s message reminds me otherwise. When I hear that quote or think about King’s life and legacy, I realize that I must remain hopeful that I will do better the next time and get a better grade. This quote influences me to know that infinite hope is the only way to overcome disappointments through life in order to reach my goals.

King knew that the white leaders, especially in the southern United States, would not simply give blacks the rights they wanted. He also knew that the movement would not always run as smoothly as expected and that there would be setbacks. However, he had hope, even through all of the hardships he faced.
