This is a story about Martin Luther King Jr, who was an American baptist minister as well as a black rights activist during the 1960’s in the United States. He fought for the rights of black people through strong speeches, protests, and walks instead of violence. He was born on January 15, 1929, in Atlanta Georgia and died on April 4th, 1968 when he was assassinated, at the age of 39. His work as an activist has left a mark in American history and with the American public.
Martin Luther King Jr. had to face lot’s of adversity from the people who were against this movement. Some of the people, however, joined him in his quest for equal rights. During his walks, he was arrested multiple times because of what he was doing. In order to move forward with his “dream,color” he had to be resilient and overcome anything terrible that happened to him such as being arrested and being blocked by the police.

King had a dream that his children could grow up and not be judged color of their skin but by their character. Even when he was sitting in jail or being blocked by the police he didn’t give up on his dream. Without his persevering, his resilience, his dream and his leadership, black people could still be treated differently, not be allowed to sit in certain seats on the bus and still have to drink out of separate drinking fountains. With his resilience his dream happened, black people were given equal rights. If he was decided that when he got out of jail he was going to give his dream might never have been
