The Man With A Dream In Atlanta Georgia, on January 15, 1929, Martin Luther King Jr. was born. King was originally born as Michael Luther King Jr. then later changed his first name to Martin in honor of German protestor Martin Luther. Marin grew up learning that racism was a very wrong and ungodly act, which had a great impact on him growing up. “In May, 1941, Martin was 12 years old when his grandma died of a heart attack. The event was traumatic for Martin, more so because he was watching a parade against his parents' wishes when she passed away. Distraught at the news, young Martin jumped from his second story window at his own home, attempting suicide.”

But then they discovered that she was with child and civil rights leaders feared this would scandalize the black community and make Colvin less credible in the eyes of whites.” Then, on December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks would not give up her seat on the Montgomery City bus and was immediately arrested for refusing to give up her seat to a white man. “Soon after Rosa Parks was arrested, E.D.
