The Power Of One America, land of the free and home of the brave, right? In present times we think of the United States of America to be free and just for all, however in the 1900’s it was a different time. America was split in half based on the color of your skin, and African Americans were thought to be lesser people based on their skin color. Imagine going to separate schools, restaurants, and even bathrooms just because you were different. Then, on December 1, 1955 the second African American woman decided not to give up her seat on the bus, this leads to a rise in racial tensions.A man named Martin luther King Jr. will rise up and use this severe discrimination to fuel his dream of a better world. Martin Luther King Jr’s early and adult life changed how we viewed and treated African Americans when he had first protested and how we view people in the present. Martin Luther King Jr.’s experienced the world through his view in public and through his father, and this gave him a unique view of the world. Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929 and had grew up with an older sister and a younger brother that all lived together in a secure and loving environment in Atlanta, Georgia.. At age 12 Martin Luther King Jr.’s grandmother had died of a hard attack. This was a traumatic event for King, he had jumped from a second story window in the family house, allegedly trying to take his own life (“Martin Luther King Jr.” Bio.com). He attended Booker T.
