The Civil Rights Leader

Martins Luther King Jr was one of the famous civil rights leader in U.S history. Some people remember him by the speeches he gave.He used a nonviolent method in his struggle for equal rights for all. I think he was one of the famous blacks in life, to start the equal rights for all. Without him I do not think the blacks will have the same rights, they have now.
Martin luther King Jr was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. MLK was first named Michael, after his father Michael Luther King Sr. Michael Luther King Sr. took a trip to Germany. He only went for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.He skipped 9th through 12th grade and went to college at the age of 15. He went to college early, because of his high grades in school. He went to Morehouse College, Crozier Theological Seminary, and to Boston University. He went to Morehouse College, because it was a college for African- Americans.in total schooling, he went for 11 years. He was once elected school body president.
After college, MLK started the fight for equal rights, around the mid ‘50s, until his death. His first sermon in ’47, at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. He was ordained at the church in ’48. MLK gave about 450 speeches a year. His famous speech is “I Have a Dream” on August 28, 1963. About 250,000 people came to hear “I Have a Dream”. His speech was held in Lincoln Memorial, in Washington D.C. . “ I Have a Dream” speech was one of top 10 speeches, that changed the U.S.A.
On December 5, 1955- December 20, 1956, MLK convinced the blacks to not ride the bus, after Rosa Parks was arrested. This was called the Boycott. It took about 381 days util the city passed, that the blacks can sit anywhere on the
