Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. also known as Michael Luther was born on January 15, 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia. He was one of the greatest American Civil Rights leaders of the 1960’s. Martin Luther King Jr died trying to make the lives of African Americans better. His father was a minister at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. At the age of 15 he was enrolled at the Moore house college and graduated from Moore House College in 1948. Martin Luther became a minister just as his father wanted. He married Coretta Scott in 1953 while he attended college in Boston Graduate School. They had four kids named Martin Luther III, Yolanda King, Bernice King, and Dexter Scott King. He completed his work in Boston Graduate School and received his PHD. By that time he was known as the Civil Rights Activist, attempting to get rid of discrimination and overthrow unfair laws. In 1956, he was arrested on charges for hindering operation of buses without legal cause. …show more content…
This speech inspired millions of African Americans. “ I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of this cred, I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slaves owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood”. Martin Luther king Jr. was a powerful speaker, not only a powerful speaker but knew how to lead amazing protests and get many people involved.
