“Life's most persistent and urgent question is, What are you doing to others?” Michael Luther King Jr was born on January 15, 1929,in Atlanta, Georgia. He was renamed Martin, just like his dad. He was raised by his parents, Reverend Martin Luther King Sr. and Alberta Williams King. When Martin was a child, he could not understand why black people and white people were not treated equally. Martin`s parents taught him to be respectful and kind to others. Martin Luther King Jr. is inspirational because he stood up for equal rights for all people.

In 1963, he led a nonviolent campaign with many Civil Rights groups aimed at Alabama, which was known for being the most segregated city at the time. Dr. King was awarded The Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 at the age of 35 years old. He is remembered each year on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a U.S. Federal Holiday since 1986. Sadly, Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated on April 4, 1968, at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee, at the age of 39.
“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” This famous speech was given on August 28, 1963, on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. In front of 250,000 Civil Rights supporters, King called for an end to racism in America. This speech was very powerful and important to the Civil Rights movement.
In conclusion, Martin Luther King Jr. was a great man who was very influential in trying to bring all people together. If it wasn’t for his bravery and courage, African Americans and whites might still be separated today. Martin Luther King Jr. inspired people back then, and his influences are still felt and remembered
