No one is allowed to use race as a reason or excuse to not give something or treat someone as an equal. In universities, sometimes black people with lower test scores would get in over whites with great test scores. People may argue that is what Martin Luther King Jr. wanted, but they fail to see that whites are then not treated the same. That rule changed back to whatever race the person is does not matter. That is another example showing how Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream is being lived out today: fair acceptance into colleges for whites and blacks. I believe that Martin Luther King Jr. would agrees with En Vogue when she sang “Free your mind and the rest will follow. Be colorblind, don't be so shallow.” While I also agree with that saying, I believe that there is a difference between equality and being equal. Equal opportunities should be given to all, but everyone has strengths and weaknesses.
