Infrastructure
To begin with, 44% of the respondents indicated that they attended the park at least once during the course of the week. This is representative of the high volume of usage, which correlates to the need to improve services and conditions at the center. Sixty-eight percent of the respondents reported that they were either very unsatisfied or somewhat unsatisfied with the appearance of the center. This is interesting because low-income families mostly use the community center. The overall sentiment of the respondents was strong feelings of need and hope for improvements at the center. Therefore, many individuals were willing to fill a survey out since they believe that it will help their center.
Program Improvements
This importance of the community center is reflective of the high value placed on the park by the respondents, which totaled 87% of the responses. This high value on the park can be attributed to the family activities that are offered at the center and the center’s positive influence in the community.
However, the respondents agreed that the program needs improvements. Thirty-two percent of the respondents were somewhat unsatisfied with the activities offered at the center. When interviewed, they responded that they would like to see some new and innovative programs offered. Additionally, many of these individuals indicated that they do not consider the amenities to be very inviting.
