Like in ballet, she created her own rules and routines to whip her dancers into shape. The technique is so on point and different than other dance styles that it takes over 10 years to fully master.
Martha first studied drama, but became involved in dance at the age of 22, which is a late age late for a dancer. With an older body, and less flexibility she used her differences to her advantage and made her own dance routines for herself. As a result, she often had trouble teaching her choreography to the other dancers, because she had made all of her routines to fit her own body. While most dancers retire by the age of 30, her late start didn't stop her as she danced until the age of 76.
Like other dancers before her, Martha began studying classical forms of dance. This was ballet, for other dancers classical music might have included Mozart. Modern art challenged the traditions of the past in a variety of ways. Old-fashioned ideas for art included formal, perfect, and beautiful symbols in music, dance, painting, and
