Motivation can be brought about by many means. One that could be used by a newly hired principal at Marshall Metro High School would be the process of positive motivation. Students could be motivated to attend school and achieve good grades by rewarding them for their efforts (Crotty, 2013). Gifts could be determined by the measurement of mastering a particular skill, such as reading a book or completing a homework assignment rather than instilling a certain grade. In order for motivation to take place, an achievable goal must be put into place. The student must have the confidence the he or she can reach the goal.
