The Mars Exploration Rover (MER) Mission is a mission started by NASA. This ongoing robotic space mission involves two rovers, Opportunity (MER-B) and Spirit (MER-A), to explore planet Mars’ surface and geology. The scientific objective of this mission is to search for a wide range of rocks and soils that may be a clue to Mars’ past water activity. The mission’s objective is also to determine what the minerals, rocks, and soils on Mars are composed of.
