Someone who is not married would most likely not travel the world by themselves because one, it would be boring and second, it wouldn’t mean as much as it would be getting to experience it with someone you truly love. There are many different things you can do together like, go on a hike, go fishing, go to a concert, or go see Christmas lights, these are just a few things that you can do as a couple. Marriage does not keep you from experiencing different things, it seems as if it helps you experience more than you ever would.

Dr. Coontz argues that strengthening the quality of marriages has weakened the institution of marriage. For thousands of years, marriage was not about love or relationships, it was a way of making connections and turning strangers into relatives. In other words, marriage was invented to get in-laws.
