The Importance Of Marriage In My Life

Marriage plays a big part in any person 's life. Whether you are the mother, the father, sister, brother, daughter, son the concept of marriage will always be a part of someone 's life. For my life my step mother was in a unhealthy relationship with my father. This led to controversy and mixed feelings through my life. This led to the divorce and the fight to have the kids on “their side”. Parents tend to use their children as a way to get the upper hand when a marriage goes sour. The public eye likes to view marriage as this happy, loving life but the longer a relation the more problems it seems to obtain. The matter of fact is this. The reason we fall in love is also the same reason that people fall out of love. The things that so many people find beautiful about a person is also the reasons they start to hate them. Strong turns into stubborn, corny turns into to dramatic, love dissolves into numbness. It 's a fact that many children grow up seeing marriages like these and that these continuous generations learn that what is on tv, what is taught to us by the American dream is not the same as what is the true image …show more content…
When my father was nineteen he was married to his first wife, and like so many others before him regretted the decision and divorced. We hear see this a lot in this day and age, where a parent was going to/ or did marry young and it turned out disastrous. Through seeing generation x fail through time and the rising divorce rates, it has spread an uneasiness around this current generation. Children look up to their parents and to see them not be able to make a marriage last imprints on them. Now people are marrying in a lot older age with the fear that the marriage will not work out. Knowing that the 50% chance that it won 't work out is a possibility and that one day they may not love their significant other or vice versa their spouse will not love
