Whether legal or religious, marriage is one the central social institutions across societies. Among the several subsections of marriage in Canada is same sex marriage. In Canada, the union between two members of the same gender has been legal since 2005. Same sex marriage should be legalized in every country, and should continue to be legal in Canada, for three main reasons:
1. The marriages harm no one.
2. It would and does promote peace and understanding.
