My area of specialization is Marriage and Family Therapy. The association for my profession is the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). This association has a code of ethics that was updated in 2015. The code of ethics covers a variety of subject matter from advocacy, personal relationships, and supervision, just to name a few. There have been several updates to the 2015 and new additions. One of the new additions to the code was 6.1 Technology Assisted Services.It communicates that all MFT should safeguard that they are compliant with all relevant laws for the delivery of such services. MFT should also ensure that the use of technology is appropriate and beneficial for the client (AAMFT, Code of Ethics, 2015).
