According to my personal experience, roads of Maroubra beach area can meet the basic needs of people living in surrounding communities. I have already lived here--a house not far away from the beach for over half a year, and the bus that I take every day would always go through Marine Parade, which is the main road just behind the beach. Fortunately, I never have the chance to experience traffic jam on this road even during peak hours.
Marine Parade is a north-south road that is almost parallel with the trend of the beach, intersecting Maroubra Road to the north and Fitzgerald Ave. to the south. Both Maroubra road and Fitzgerald Ave. extend westward until intersecting with Anzac Parade, which is a major road through the southeast suburbs of Sydney. It stretches from Moore Park to the north and La Perouse to the south, passing through Little Bay, Chifley, Malabar, Matraville, Maroubra, Kingsford and Kensington sequentially from south to north.
