There was one question, however, that we had to debate about what the best answer really was. The question was about whether we should allow our doctors to use euthanasia, which is commonly referred to as ‘assisted suicide’. There were three options that were available for this question, we could either immediately legalize euthanasia, which could put people out of their suffering. The second choice was that we could entertain the though of legalizing it, and start to research euthanasia more to see how it could benefit hospitals. Finally, we could keep assisted suicide at its current status and say it is still illegal. Members in my group were saying that they thought it would be a good idea to legalize assisted suicide because it is not right to make a person have to live through suffering whenever they know they are going to die. My stance on it was different; I though it would be a bad idea to legalize assisted suicide because first of all it could easily cause corruption in hospitals if doctors have medicine that is meant to kill people. Secondly, I think it would ruin the dignity that doctors work with. In my opinion a doctor should do everything they can to save their patients life, not give up when it gets hard.
