This moment was the point in her life where she realized she wanted more. Her very first performance she got the main role of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. Marlee started touring the Midwest doing performances while she was in college for the Center of Deafness. She interacted with the audience, one instance actor Henry Winkler watched one of her performances, and she went straight up to him after and asked for his advice. Deaf theater gave her such a unique platform because a lot of the plays are based off of true storied which really allowed the audience to connect to her as a teller. They usually revolve around stereotypes and myths found in the deaf culture. Since this her platform has broadened a lot, she is currently acting on the well-known ABC Family show Switched at Birth while also maintaining many positions for organizations supporting all sorts of
