After moving out of his parents' house and into his own apartment, he bought himself a car. Mark enjoyed living on his own. His job paid well, but he still set aside money from his paycheck each month to pay for his rent and car loan. Mark spent any extra money he had each month outfitting his new apartment. He bought a new computer system, a big-screen television, a home theater system, movies, and whatever else he wanted. One year after starting his job, he got into a car accident and caused $2,000 worth of damage. Unfortunately, Mark had spent so much money buying electronics that he had only saved $500. He needed the car to get to work, so he took the money he had set aside for rent and car payments and paid for the repairs. However, the
