Company Profile:
Nike, Inc. or Nike as it is known worldwide is an American multinational corporation that was founded 52 years ago by Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight. The company was launched with the name of Blue Ribbon Sports and was renamed as Nike, Inc. in the year 1971. The name of the company was changed to opt for a name that was more powerful and appealing. The name Nike was chosen from the name of a Greek goddess of victory. The company has products under its own brand name as well as many others. Some of the most prominent names that it sells its product under are:
1. Nike Pro
2. Air Jordan
3. Air Max
4. Converse
5. Air force 1

The company was very quick in adapting new marketing techniques and leaving the old ones that made it extremely good at it its marketing approach (Sanusi, 2014). It not only just adapted and introduced new marketing techniques but it also executed them really nicely, which made it really difficult for people to ignore the brand. Puma and Adidas are however very quick to follow the company in any route that it took as they have followed Nike’s footsteps and stepped up their marketing game as well.
