In order to become a stronger and more innovative company in the competitive market of technology, managers need to put a plan into place for how the company will create more inventive products. The way Blackberry should implement a more innovative plan would be to hold meetings at the end of every week where employees get together and discuss new ideas for the company’s software and security programs. Blackberry should also have a research team that looks into the new developments Blackberry’s competitors are making with it’s products. By seeing what other products other company’s are coming up with, Blackberry has an understanding of what the market already has for customers and what it can create that is different. It can do this by being more innovative and building a good customer base by giving it’s customers benefits they can not get from Blackberry’s competitors. By doing this it is giving it an opportunity to strive and succeed in the market, Which is exactly what the company wants to achieve. Blackberry also has extensive knowledge of technology and by showing that through the quality of it’s products will also help it to strive. The company has been a strong competitor in the market before and can be again if it continues to be inventive and constantly keep growing. I was interested in this chapter the most because I believe the concepts presented in this chapter are concepts that can be related to everyday life. Whether it is in a management situation or not I feel as tho chapter 9 of the “Essentials of Contemporary Management” textbook, provides me with skills that I can use to handle those situations. The chapter I was least interested in was chapter 1: Managers and Managing (Jones et. al, pg. 2-27). Although I found this a very informative chapter that describes some of the essential framework for managing, it was not the most interesting chapter I found in the text
