Dutch Bros Case Study

It is a widely known fact that a morning is just not complete without the nice cup of coffee to give you the energy to survive the day. In fact Kelly Philips shares that, “Caffeine lovers in the U.S. spend $40 billion on coffee each year”(Philips, 2016, para 12.) For most people, coffee is just a drink that gives them energy and helps them speed through their boring everyday routine. However, there seems to be a company that wants to change how and whom we enjoy our daily cup of coffee with. This company would be Dutch Bros, a small drive thru coffee house, with Bro-istas instead baristas. What is the meaning of a Bro-ista? That’s simple it is a friend or a pal that makes you your delectable cup of coffee. I believe it is necessary for Dutch …show more content…
The two brothers, born into a family of dairy business owners, always had an entrepreneurial side about them. They constantly dreamed of growing their families business. However, their dreams came to a halt when government regulations forced them to sell their cows. Not deterred, the two men started their business with a barn and hundred pounds of beans, and a pushcart: to take out by the railroads. Where they handed out coffee samples to anyone willing to try. Today their name is on 260 locations in 7 states with over 5,000 Bro-istas creating and growing their dream (Dutch Bros About …show more content…
Anyone that has visited a Dutch Bros knows the first thing you see is a bright energetic face ready to chat your ear off until your coffee creation is made. The Bro-istas make you genuinely believe that they care about what is going on in your life; whether it is as simple as what you are doing for the rest of the day or as complicated as a true struggle you are facing, they try to brighten your day to the best of their ability. One true example of this is when a group of Bro-istas talked to a customer that had just lost her husband. Instead of just serving her a drink and sending her on her way “the DB guys and gals noticed she was falling apart and they stopped everything and prayed with her for several minutes”(Seattle, 2016). The woman was so overcome by the caring employees the she burst into tears. I cannot think of any other coffee franchise that would go out of their way for a customer the way these Bro-istas did with her. It is stated that Dutch Brothers strive for speed, however, I believe the employees know when to slow down and really relate to their customers; the women whom just lost her husband can attest to that statement. Of course on a day to day basis the Bro-istas are not encountering a large amount of people that have just lost a family member nevertheless,

Bruchko’s experiences in the jungle with the Motilones Indians has had a number of surprising elements, but what has surprised me the most is that Bruchko was able to build a relationship much better than any other one he has made. Even in their differences, being raised in completely different environments, not being able to communicate to their fullest, and several other barriers, Bruchko and Bobby became brothers. They accepted each other and committed to watch out for each other. When they were at the ceremony creating their pact they sang, “We are brothers, and there is nothing in the world that can take us apart” (Olson 113). It’s amazing how fast God can grow relationships when he's in them, and although Bobby may no have understood…
