It does not matter if you are a work-at-home mom, a small business owner or a salesperson at a retail establishment, without a plan, you may never achieve your full potential. The most successful businesses have a plan in place that helps them set goals and measure their progress by way of results. They have achievable goals in sight that they are directing their efforts towards reaching.
Since this is the model for the most successful businesses, it only makes sense that your business should follow their lead in order to achieve your own success. While your business may not be on target to open franchise number 1,000, you still need to be able to determine if you are on target to meet your annual budget. That measurement can be broken down

A planner does not have to be on your desk. It may be an app or something that you designed in spreadsheet software like Excel. There are a number of them on the market from all types of manufacturers like Day-Runner and Day-Timer. You can get computer-based planning calendars like The Journal from David RM software.
All of the big box stores have a planner and calendar section where you can buy anything from a desktop calendar for daily notes or an eraser board for weekly planning. Always keep a hard copy of your calendar or planner, so that you have something to go back to in order to check your progress.
At the end of the year, go through your notes and make a list of your accomplishments and successes. Then create a list of the things that you want to achieve for the next year and begin to plan your path towards those successes. If you have goals that you did not reach the previous year, revise them and add them to the next year.
By writing things down, you have a tangible map that you can use to check your progress towards your overall goals. This will aid you in reaching the success you desire from your business or job and give you a warning when you are off track, which enables you to make adjustments and
