After our extensive research and analysis of Nintendo Wii’s history, and current product development dilemma we have developed some possible solutions in that we believe could improve the dimensions of the Wii product, and Nintendo as a brand. These options are as follows: Utilize identical or substitutable technologies similar to competitors, innovate and create new games and products within target market, revamp the launch strategy, create better work conditions for developers. Our first recommended solution is to utilize identical or substitutable technology as our competitors especially in the area of motion graphics and providing other entertainment besides just video games. By studying, dissecting, revolutionizing and then uniquely implementing the fantastic coding style of our competitors will give us an advantage in that we can create graphics even better than our competitors. Nintendo provided a solid foundation for graphics, our competitors built upon our foundation, now it 's time for the Nintendo to go in and “renovate” the graphics game. The only con” to doing this, is that Nintendo is known for a certain type of graphics, almost like an antique. If Nintendo changes their graphics format, they might jeopardize some of their fan base and their identity. Nintendo had a opportunistic first mover advantage as well as a product quality second to none. Nintendo can use their same formula of old and gain a first mover advantage by creating and innovating the Wii and launching the new product in the same way we’ve seen Steve Jobs launch Mac’s telecommunications products and services. They launched each product in a conference environment and basically had a launch party for each product. Thus creating a large amount of press and attention from the vital press outlets and Apple fans.
