Personal Essay On My Professional Experience

I have been working in retail management with Target Corporation for the past three years. For many business professionals, each day at work may seem mundane and repetitive. For me, I often find that each day in the retail world provides fresh challenges and new obstacles to overcome. In my professional experience thus far, I have had the opportunity to learn all aspects of business operations from sales and marketing to human resources and logistics. I believe to become a great business professional is to be able to master three skills: analytical, technical, and interpersonal.
My prior professional experience as an Executive Team Leader with Target has allowed me to excel in developing interpersonal skills at the work place. I led cross-cultural and cross-functional teams on a daily basis to improve business operations. A MBA experience from the University of Florida will allow me to improve my business analytics. I am excited to learn more technical skills such as finance and more analytical skills through courses such as “Global Strategic Management” and “Operations Management”. I am intrigued by the Global Immersion Experience provided by the University of Florida’s MBA program and I believe it will allow me to strengthen my international experience and gain understanding of international companies’ operations. I would also love to use my personal international experience and language skills to integrate with future career goals and excel in marketing on an international level. I am excited by the benefits that the University of Florida’s MBA program has to offer and am eager to one day be able to contribute back to the program nationally and internationally through a successful business career in the consumer packaged goods
