Baskin-Robbins has been the 31 flavors ice cream shop for nearly seventy years. With locations in more than fifty countries, the unique flavors are shared all around the world. Since 1995 Baskin-Robbins have introduced 1,000 new and interesting ice cream flavors pralines ‘n cream being in the top five. Still vanilla and chocolate, the original flavors make it into the top.
Background- Part 1: The very start of Baskin-Robbins was in 1942 when Burt Baskin married Irvine Robbins sister making both men brother in laws. The two brother in laws shared a dream to create an iconic ice cream store. Irv’s father urged them to start out separately to value their independent work. The company is ranked #56 in the franchise 500 for 2017. The Franchisor is seeking new franchise units worldwide. Total sales for 2014 was 165,000,000 and it is the largest ice cream chain in the world. With over 300 million customers each year thousands or scoops of ice cream are being sold everyday. As of 2015 there are 2,478 stores in American and 7,800 around the world with each one having an ice cream flavor fit for their country.
What are the company’s mission statement and/or vision for the company?
The mission statement for this company is “We’re a place for innovative, delicious and fun treats in your neighborhood”. There vision for the employees to display to the customers are five different tasks. Leadership is the one on the top of the list they want responsibility with passion at every level. One of the other important tasks to display is social stewardship they need to demonstrate a good corporate citizenship and responsibility to all situations. Lastly is fun to do this they approach every challenge with enthusiasm, energy and excitement.
