Kiki Magazine Case

Improved Essays
Kiki magazine has a specific target market. It does this by making it clear to competitor that they are targeting young pre-teens ages 9 through 14. Kiki also assures that they are providing a distinguishable magazine, they do this by avoiding redundancy that typical magazines incorporate. For example many magazines targeted at teens tend to be about, fashion, celebrities, relationships and beauty, not to mention all the advertising included within the pages. While, there are other magazines targeted solely at education, which can be beneficial for pre-teen girls to be aware about there is not much interest by the targeted audience. What Kiki does is fuse beauty and education in one magazine providing a magnificent product that demonstrates …show more content…
By having a target segment that is constantly changing requires more work and effort. Kiki needs to develop a strategy that will insure that girls around the age of nine are aware of how amazing Kiki’s magazines are. I suggest age nine girls because Kiki needs to pull in a fresh new set of girls continuously focusing on the youngest portion of their target segment, because they will last through the whole segment. If they fail to do so the business will deteriorate. The fact the Kiki restrains from advertising makes developing an effective strategy all that more difficult. My suggestion is that Kiki ensure that they are continuously innovating their magazines, thus keeping the bond between product and consumers strong, throughout the time the girls remain in the market segment. By making the magazine provide a new experience for girls every time they open one will reduce the product becoming dull. If Kiki manages to remain popular or increase its popularity throughout the time most girls remain part of the market segment then those girls who left will give younger girls great reviews about the magazine, hence encouraging new girls to become a part of Kiki’s market

The magazines also were at least monthly, since weekly or more frequently published magazines tend to be more news oriented, so people may tend to not view the advertisements as much as something that they are reading for leisure. Psychology is used in everyday life and can be seen especially in advertising. Many advertisers use hidden symbols to manipulate consumers into buying or watching products they neither want nor need. According to Charles I. Brooks, author of How Psychology Applies to Everyday Life, “advertising executives try to convey a product message to viewers.” Shark week advertisement in PEOPLE Magazine is a great example of how this magazine uses psychology to capture the audience 's attention. Quiznos target market should include consumers ages 18-34, who have disposable income and prefer a healthier alternative to traditional fast food restaurants such as, McDonalds or Taco Bell. Quiznos’ best interest is to keep their target market the same because its biggest competitor, Subway, has a target market of ages 16-39. Since Subway has been successful in targeting their advertisements to that specific age range, it would be beneficial for Quiznos not to change their age group. 4 Message: While Quiznos was successful in getting attention through…
