A market analysis consists of research about the current market. Companies are interested in market analysis 's because they help the company understand the type of customer they should be targeting based on their research. During my market analysis of the Waikato region I will be discussing international and domestic visitors, visitor expenditure, the purpose of travel and Emerging Markets.
There are more domestic travellers compared to international travellers as there were 661,000 (7.7%) in 2009 of total visits to the Waikato region generated by international visitors and 7.916 million of domestic visits in 2009. It creates a larger target market because your marketing a package that consists of two different companies and you also have a larger marketing budget as both companies are contributing. Some of the companies that Hobbiton could align themselves with are Waitomo Adventures or Sarnia park boutique lodge. I Think that both companies should be equally responsible for reservations and marketing costs.
The Online Marketing Strategy
Hobbiton benefits greatly by having an online presence as having a website is cheaper than other marketing channels like t.v adverts or billboards which can save the company money in the long run. The Hobbiton website can be accessible from anywhere around the world making it easy to access for customers overseas. People can book there and then which saves time for the client as well as the employees of Hobbiton.
Hobbiton movie set tours use Facebook, Instagram and their website as an online marketing strategy. These reach there target audience as their website can be accessed anywhere internationally and their target market consists of 18-55 year olds, this market usually own a Facebook account and are familiar with technology.
