Mark Walling: A Short Story

A body Identified as Mark Walling was found in the abandoned surgery center. He was found with a triangle cut in his torso and his skull was smashed in with some sort of blunt weapon. The triangle was cut with a short curved knife. FBI detective Rayden Schmitz, a new detective fresh out of the academy, was assigned to this case. Rayden was cunning and sly according to the academy. The victim worked at a major accounting firm for the rich and powerful. He was also, killed about two days ago based on the bug larva and decomposition. At the victim's work he had no enemies except for his boss Lina. They brought him for an interrogation. Rayden asked, “Where were you two days ago around six o’clock.”

“Interesting,” Rayden said suspiciously. After the interrogations of both Lina and the victim’s girlfriend. The girlfriend had an alibi and was out of town. The found what the blunt weapon was used to kill the victim. It is a rusted pipe they found outside the crime scene. After a full search of the crime scene, there was a note twenty feet from the corpse saying “Come see my lovely work at the Old North Iron Mine.” Rayden ordered a raid on the location and two men died due to a land mine the killer laid. The raid found three burned skeletons in the mine.

The identity of the burned corpses were employees of the same accounting firm. The lab report came in they all had the triangular cut on their torso too. The corpses also, were killed with an old fashioned revolver. After the bodies were found the case was changed to a serial killer case because of the triangular cut on the torso of the victims. Rayden brought in the C.E.O. of the company that the victims worked at Alfred to interrogate. Rayden asked, “Where were you around six o'clock on
