Mark Twain's Advice To Youth

In the essay Advice to Youth by Mark Twain, it voices the authors advice to young people in order to help guide them throughout their lives. His goal is to convince youth to agree with the ethical and moralistic values he discusses. Furthermore, he wants them to apply these values into their own lives. Throughout this essay, I agree with the advice he gives due to the values my parents have instilled in me from such a young age. These morals are an immense part of my identity. An identity is the nature of being who or what a specific thing or person is. My various experiences with advice from superiors have made me mature and have helped form my identity. Life is a mystifying journey that challenges the human mind in many ways. As many people say, life is hard. Yes, it can be difficult at times. However, going through hard times have made me into the strong woman I am today. The instructions given in this essay are excellent and are very much true and credible. However, these portions of advice have had to come about from initial failures in this game everyone calls life. People pull their most valuable characteristics from tough situations they encounter. Everyday, life is pushing me to be better, to conquer more than I believe I can do. One acquires their identity by making mistakes. So, my advice to anyone; live life the way one desires.
